My Yoga Journey
I am teaching Fascia and Vinyasa – Hatha Yoga classes in Bassersdorf and online via Zoom.
I am originally from Italy, born in Genova. When I was 9 years old, my father died of lung cancer although he was a really sportive man. Due to my stepfather, I had the chance to live in various countries. So besides other cities, I lived in Zagreb and in Teheran. My time in Iran was very special as I stayed there during the last four years of the war between Iran and Iraq. I really loved to be there but we were living with the feeling of fear day by day.
Since I was young I always did sports, so starting at the age of 6 years until 11 years I practiced gymnastics and classical ballet, jazz dance, and Hip Hop. My passion for dance and gymnastics led me to become a Zumba teacher.
When we came here to Switzerland I worked for 20 years at two international banks. It was a very nice time because as I was a client advisor and I had the chance to work with international teams and international clients. In this period of my life, I got married and we had the wish to become parents. Unfortunately twice I lost the babies. After this drastic experience, I needed something to calm me down and bring me back to the Cecilia that I was before – because I felt so lost and nervous inside…
So I started to take a Yoga class in Zurich during lunchtime and there I fell in love with Yoga for the first time.
As life goes by, you can be struck in a short time by various strokes of fate in terms of health and this is what happened to me.
Besides a serious skiing accident, the two abortions I had I was so happy to give birth to a healthy son. I was breastfeeding him for 2 years, and after that time he began to take one virus after the other, and my body was feeling really tired. I did not have the strength to do anything, and in the end, I was afflicted by fears and panic attacks. Last but not least two years ago I had serious liver surgery due to a very big good tumor.
I was looking for inner peace and restoring balance in the body.
Yoga and proper nutrition helped me a lot during these times to recover.
Yoga means for me an inner transformation technique that you could experience for yourself.
By holding certain positions, blockages and tension can be released and increased strength can be developed in the affected areas. But the ultimate goal of yoga for me is a journey through myself into our heart.
Through various breathing techniques and meditations as well as accompanying asanas we can regain our inner peace and strength.
My biggest wish is to help many people in their situations and bring their joy back to life.
In addition, I would like to bring back an atmosphere of trust in body, mind, and soul.
The goal is to balance the body and the mind as much as possible in order to become the temple of the soul.
